To hike up Devil’s Peak, Table Mountain and Lion’s Head in one day for charity.
That’s the hiking challenge that will take place on Saturday 30 April in Cape Town for my or 11th experiment:
After working for 9 different companies, I felt it was time to give something back. That’s why I’m proud to announce two charities who were willing to attach their name to this challenge:
More information on the charities:
This one is personal for me. My stepdad spent the last days of his life in a Hospice — a care place with a homely atmosphere for terminally ill people. It’s operated by volunteers, and they take care of everything. This way family can focus on being family during these heavy and emotional times. It was exactly what we needed.
The TK Challenge selected 6 running events in Holland everyone can complete to help raise money. Their total goal is to raise 142.195,- Euro — A wink to the distance of a full marathon, with a ‘1’ added.
Exclusively for me, they’ve added a seventh event: The TK Challenge Cape Town Edition

The second one is a South-African charity. Last week I met Hannah Overgauw.
Her story in short: About two years ago she started her own charity to give Physical Education (PE) on Grassy Park High School. Why? Because it wasn’t a subject…
She believes it’s important for children to move for all the obvious reasons, as well as for the development of their social skills.
What she has accomplished is mind blowing. Through donations she has built everything from scratch. She pays for her own (tiny) salary. Gives PE to a 1000 kids every week. And with the spare money she buys new equipment for the school.
From 18 until 21 May I have the privilege to help Hannah for my 9th experiment, so more on this later.
